Review: The previous book ended in a cliffhanger. However, this book started right off the bat. We see our main character, Mair who is cooping with the new information she has. It is not actually good. She is angry about what happened and can't seem to forgive the decision she made. This decision is about her picking society over lover, but in a good way. If she didn't make the choice she did, then everything would have changed in the end. The thing that I love about this book is that the author was able to wrap the whole series up in a good note. I guess every major problem is solved and some minor remain. It's obvious that after a war breaking out that not everything will be the same as before. Victoria Aveyard makes that known in the end of this book. I also loved the fact that in the end Mare and Cal could solve the problem between them and get over their problems from before. I was really scared that the author would make a major decision about them, but she put them apart for some time. In this book, we finally get to read from Maven's point of view. I never knew what was going on in that head of his. I finally understand how he feels for Mare and that he is really broken. I think that it would be impossible to fix a person after their mind shattered. I wanted more parts from him to read about. After reading from Mare's point of view from the first book, I know why she thinks the way she does. But Maven is still a mystery for me. I want to get to know him better. I have high hopes for the novella coming out for this series.

Now moving onto what I didn't like about this book. I guess the spark that I got from the first book kind of died in the last book. It didn't make me really excited as much. I think that Aveyard could have written more in this book about the future of the characters in the future. I really need the next novella.
